Menopause Instability

Filed under hormonal balance | No Comments

Countless women feel as if they are constantly trying to remain on an even keel. However, fluctuating hormones can prove to be extremely difficult. Controlling mood swings can feel next to impossible. It can be very trying to always be on the hormone balancing act.

Menopause is an expected element of a woman’s life cycle. Natural menopause generally occurs between the ages of 45 and 55 and it becomes finial when your menstrual periods have stopped for 12 uninterrupted months. A number of women experience artificial menopause or surgically induced menopause before their 40′s because they undergo a hysterectomy, chemotherapy and etcetera.

Menopause hormone imbalance takes place for specific reasons (even though it may seem like a sick joke). For the duration of the reproductive years, women produce estrogen and progesterone from the ovaries in large amounts. At this phase, progesterone and estrogen counterbalance each other, keeping you balanced and healthy. As the levels of progesterone take a rain check in the body because of failure to ovulate – women begin to experience hormone imbalance symptoms.

During menopause, the body’s production of estrogen goes down 40% or 60% and the production of progesterone depletes completely. This hormone imbalance causes some very obnoxious menopausal symptoms and unhealthy conditions. It’s something rather frequent during perimenopause (and later, in menopause itself). Your hot flashes, night sweats, irregular periods, cravings for sweets, vaginal dryness, and even insomnia are merely signs that you have underlying hormonal imbalances or metabolic damage due to stress, poor nutrition, and other factors.

You’d be surprised how quickly you can restore your body to its natural hormonal balance, with the right support. In two weeks, 80% of the women we’ve worked with report looking better, feeling better, and living better – free of the symptoms that used to haunt them. You can, too with Hot Flash Freedom!

Estrogen Dominance and Hormonal Birth Control

The term Hormonal Contraception refers to birth control methods that act on the endocrine system. With most types of hormonal birth control, a woman takes hormones to prevent ovulation. When there is no egg to be fertilized, pregnancy cannot occur. Hormones also cause other changes in the cervical mucus and uterus that help prevent pregnancy.

There is no question that hormonal forms of contraception are effective and convenient. However, it is important to understand that using these methods suppresses the female’s own production of progesterone, and maybe estradiol and testosterone levels. The suppression of progesterone leaves a woman in a state of estrogen dominance, which puts her at greater risk for developing breast cancer, and prone to bothersome symptoms such as water retention, breast tenderness, foggy thinking, tearfulness, sadness and mood swings.

It is essential to understand that when we test our clients that are currently using a hormonal form of birth control, the progesterone level will likely be below range and the estradiol level may be as well. When synthetic progestins are being used, endogenous production of progesterone slows considerably. It is also important to note that there is competition between the progestins found in these birth control methods and bioidentical progesterone that may negate the beneficial effects of progesterone supplementation. Progestin blocks the progesterone receptor sites.

In spite of this concern, we and others have found it beneficial to supplement the BCP’s with bioidentical progesterone. This can help with weight loss, PMS, headaches or other symptoms that may be occurring. Go to http://www.naturalbiohealth.com/blog-1 to learn more about this.

The amethyst biomat- detoxification and natural healing

What is the Amethyst Bio-Mat?

The Amethyst Bio-Mat system is a state-of-the-art advanced technology that delivers therapeutic Far Infrared Rays and Negative Ions, relieving pain and restoring balance and energy to the human body.It was developed by a highly skilled group of scientists, medical professionals and engineers. Many Insurance companies consider the Bio-Mat Amethyst™ a viable treatment option for pain as well as other immune and musculoskeletal problems.

The Bio-Mat is the only product to combine the triple synergy of Far Infrared Rays, Negative Ions, and Amethyst crystals for a true mind, body, and spiritual healing experience. In restoring Life force energy and releasing blockages, the body has the capacity to heal and bring itself back into balance. The Amethyst Bio-Mat’s™ primary gift to the human body is its ability to provide an environment in which the body is able to carry off the acidic waste as it was designed to do. As these wastes are removed, the body’s vitality is restored.

What are the Health Benefits of Infrared Therapy?

As a natural healing alternative treatment, FIR relieves pain by expanding blood vessels and increasing circulation. Better circulation allows more oxygen to reach injured areas of the body and helps reduce pain and speed up the healing process. The FIR rays not only benefit the Lymph glands, blood vessels & nerves underneath the surface of the skin, but also reach the muscles, tissues & vital organs in the deepest parts of the body. These rays vitalize the biological function of our cells and relieve neuralgia, backache, and arthritis pain, helping in detoxification of carbon dioxide from our blood. In addition, FIR wave alternative treatment has been used for Cancer, Chronic pain, Stress, Numbness, Joint Pain, Rheumatism, Low Blood Pressure, Diabetes and Asthma to name a few. The FIR wave speeds up Cellular Metabolic processes, like stimulating the activity of the Mitochondria, and triggering enzyme activity, as well as the regeneration and normalization of Damaged Cell Tissue. Also, FIR light waves are essential for bone growth and the prevention of osteoporosis, and are a general holistic health preventive measure.

How are Far Infrared Rays (FIR) created in the Amethyst Bio Mat?

The method of generating FIR through the Amethyst Biomat is accomplished by putting pulses of energy DC-Current through a carbon ceramic material called the Japanese Kurera Super Fiber. As the FIR passes through the Amethyst crystals, the crystals elongate the wave length and emit a Long Wave FIR (8-12 Microns) that penetrates 5-7 inches into the body.

What are Far Infrared Rays and where do they come from?

Infrared Therapy was first brought to us as the ultimate natural healing from the sun. All living things emit certain amounts of FIR. Traditionally we’ve gotten our daily dose of FIR from sunlight, which is composed of all the energy wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum. FIR is a form of energy that is part of the electro-magnetic light frequency of sunlight that is not visible to the human eye. FIR is safe, gentle and beneficial unlike the damaging effects of short wavelengths such as X-rays and gamma rays. FIR should not be confused with ultraviolet rays that cause sunburn and skin damage. FIR heat is a holistic health therapy that improves circulation and removes dead cells on the surface of the skin.

There has been extensive research done about the healing powers of FIR as an alternative treatment to many diseases. Harvard Medical School researched and proved that higher temperatures of FIR (104 Farenheit) eliminated cancer and viral cells without harming surrounding healthy cells. Infrared therapy can be used to simulate a fever in the body which signals the immune system to strengthen. “Give me a chance to create fever and I will cure any disease,” said the great physician, Parmenides, 2,000 years ago.

NASA discovered the technology of creating FIR in the 1960′s as a way to keep the astronauts healthy in the darkness of space. NASA released the patent for generating FIR for public use in the early 90′s. The Amethyst Biomat was then created at the end of the millennium.

Far Infrared Ray LIGHT EFFECTS THE HORMONAL BALANCE OF THE BODY

Dr. George Brainard, studying holistic health and natural healing methods, found that light affects Hormonal Balance of the body, in the levels of Melatonin, Prolactin, Cortisone, Testosterone and Thyroid Hormones. FIR light is essential to the functioning of our entire Endocrine System. FIR promotes Vasodilation, bringing nutrients and oxygen to soft tissue regions and stimulating the removal of accumulated toxins, decreasing inflammation and edema from the soft tissue. Detoxification strengthens the immune system, revitalizes skin tone and helps normalize eczema and acne. Additionally, FIR helps reduce muscle spasm, swelling, inflammation, and soreness through direct action on both free nerve endings and peripheral nerves. Other benefits include improving the balance of blood pressure and blood sugar.

FIR HELPS LOSE WEIGHT & ELIMINATE TOXINS

You can safely get a full cardio workout and burn up to 600 calories in about 30 minutes on the amethyst BioMat. It is perfect for those who are inactive due to illness, allowing them to experience the benefits of daily exercise. Perspiring is part of the complex thermoregulatory process of the body that increases the heart rate, cardiac output, & metabolic rate, as well as a natural detoxification of the system. Fat becomes water soluble at 110 Fahrenheit. This is when cellulite dissolves and is eliminated through sweating. Far infrared rays support the body’s natural healing.

If you are a practitioner of any sort of healing therapy, a nurse or masseuse, there is also a $100 discount off your purchase. Revolutionize your own natural healing, take back your body’s innate healing power !

What Should be Your Testosterone Level?

Why do testosterone levels among healthy men vary so much? Hayes speculates that some men may have highly efficient testosterone receptors—cellular traps that grab the free hormone in the blood—so that what appears to be an abnormally low testosterone level is all the hormone they need. But even an individual’s testosterone levels can be markedly different at different times.

One factor may be stress, which seems to reduce levels of sex steroids. Drug interactions, too, might alter testosterone levels in unpredictable ways. And much of the variation simply eludes explanation. Crowley studied several young men whose initial test results showed testosterone levels ranging from 150 to 200—well below the 300 cutoff—over twenty-four hours. “They had a perfectly normal testosterone profile,” Crowley says. “There can be a funny disconnect between one measurement and a later one”, which means that testosterone deficiency, may be easily over diagnosed.

Updated guidelines on diagnosis and treatment of hypogonadism in men reflect advances in treatment and more robust data about the short-term benefits of testosterone replacement therapy.

The guidelines, issued by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), also urge additional research into the long-term use of the therapy and its possible effects on the risks of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

“Concern about long-term safety and efficacy remains an issue,” said Dr. Steven M. Petak, chair of the guidelines revision committee.

“Perhaps these new guidelines will stimulate some additional research into these issues,” said Dr. Petak, an endocrinologist at the Texas Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology, Houston.

The National Institute on Aging has begun work on a 1-year study to evaluate the feasibility of conducting clinical trials of testosterone replacement therapyin older men. A task force will report on the known benefits and risks of the therapy, its potential public health impact, and the ethical issues involved in conducting such a clinical trial. The report is expected by November, said Dr. Stanley Slater, deputy director of the institute’s geriatrics and clinical gerontology program.

Fda Takes Action Against Compounded Hrt Drugs – What it Means to you

In a blow to certain drug makers, the FDA has sent letters warning seven pharmacy operations that the claims they make about the safety and effectiveness of their so-called “bio-identical hormone replacement therapy,” or “BHRT” products are unsupported by medical evidence, and are considered false and misleading by the agency. According to the FDA, they are concerned that unfounded claims like these mislead women and health care professionals.
Bioidentical hormones are custom-mixed formulas containing various hormones that are designed to be chemically identical to those naturally made by your body. These prescription and over-the-counter products are marketed as being superior to other FDA-approved HRT regimens, and are tailored to a woman’s individual hormone needs, typically determined through saliva hormone testing. Manufacturers claim that bioidentical hormones are even safer than standard, FDA-approved hormone therapy.

The FDA states that the pharmacy operations in question improperly claim that their drugs, which contain hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and estriol (which is not a component of an FDA-approved drug and has not been proven safe and effective for any use) are superior to FDA-approved menopausal hormone therapy drugs and prevent or treat serious diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and various forms of cancer.

The FDA is concerned that the claims for safety, effectiveness, and superiority that these pharmacy operations are making mislead patients, doctors and other health care professionals. Compounded drugs are not reviewed by the FDA for safety and effectiveness, and the FDA encourages patients to use FDA-approved drugs whenever possible. The warning letters issues by the FDA state that the pharmacy operations violate federal law by making false and misleading claims about their hormone therapy drugs.

“We want to assure that Americans receive accurate information about the risks and benefits of drug therapies,” said Dr. Janet Woodcock, FDA’s chief medical officer and acting director of the agency’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “In addition to today’s regulatory action, FDA is publishing an informational article for women on its consumer health information web page that provides the facts to make informed decisions about these unapproved therapies. Women taking these drugs should discuss with their health care providers the drugs’ risks and whether they’re getting effective treatment.” (see http://www.fda.gov/consumer/updates/bioidenticals010908.html for more info on the FDA’s stance on BIO HRT.)

So, what does this mean to your menopause symptoms treatment options? The most important thing to consider is that no drug product containing estriol has been approved by FDA and the safety and effectiveness of estriol is unknown. There are, however, many natural and alternative treatments for menopausal symptoms that ARE proven safe and effective.
Herbal menopause treatment, for example is a natural and increasingly popular alternative, since it is gentle and works in harmony with the woman’s body. However, it is important that a woman taking herbs should tell her doctor because just as with prescription drugs, herbs can also present possible interactions with other drugs or herbs, thus causing side effects. Additionally, there are a number of foods and herbs that include natural plant estrogens, known as phytoestrogens, which are hormone regulators of natural progesterone and estrogen. These too can be very beneficial in the treatment of menopausal symptoms.

“Menopause Formula” is herbal-based and an all-natural nutritional supplement that contains phytoestrogens. Soy products also contain phytoestrogens and may be helpful in reducing hot flashes and osteoporosis, along with treatment of vaginal dryness. It is important to remember that the effects of soy protein, which is found in whole foods, soy protein isolates, and products containing isoflavone isolates, may not all be the same. Some other alternatives for herbal menopause treatment include black cohosh, which relieves menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats, and chaste tree, which has a calming and soothing effect along with noted relief of headaches and tenderness of the breasts.

Wild yam is yet another option to herbal menopause treatment, containing compounds that are similar to progesterone and very helpful in relaxing muscle spasms while also reducing inflammation associated with menopause-related symptoms. Last but not least is rosemary. This particular herb is excellent for treating headaches and circulatory problems, while also fighting free radicals in the body and relaxing the stomach for better digestion. These and other natural alternatives have not been scientifically proven but have been used by many healthy women for years. Therefore, for the woman tired of taking prescription medication or just dealing with the symptoms of menopause, these and other natural remedies are highly recommended.

Cause of Night Sweats

Most often, the cause of night sweats and hot flashes are linked to premenopause or pre menopause. They’re additionally symptoms of pre menopause and early pre menopause.

As to the symptom itself, a night sweat episode has been described as a sense of warm inner heat which builds in intensity. Like hot flashes, the symptom could also be most steadily felt within the face, neck and higher chest areas. However, they may quickly switch into a feeling of total body warmth.

Statistically, they sometime construct in intensity as a woman will get nearer to late perimenopause and pre menopause. The biggest difference between normal emotions of being too warm and night sweats is the extent of intensity. They’ll change into so intense that they can awaken the sufferer from a deep sleep. Sadly, individual bouts can final as long as thirty minutes and be repeated as steadily as as soon as per hour.

As might be seen, severe night sweats could be sleep disruptive and lead to sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation can lead to or intensify different symptoms associated with perimenopause. These embody anger, mood swings, irritability, heart palpitations, and even heart illness and cancer.

Extreme episodes don’t permit the sufferer to achieve a good night’s sleep, generally referred to as REM sleep.

As a woman ages, she naturally loses hormones and estrogens. Declining hormone ranges have been directly linked to night sweats and are one of the most regularly recognized symptoms of pre menopause and peri menopause.

Mild to moderate symptoms (related to menopause and perimenopause) can usually be treated by the person sufferer, without medical intervention.

These treatments contain adjustments or modifications to food regimen, train, sleepwear, and bedding, coupled with an added dose of common sense.

Night sweat sufferers ought to take into account food plan adjustments which include switching to several light meals per day rather than than two or three heavy meals. Portion management is essential, as well as the avoidance of hot or spicy hot foods. Avoid in-between meals or late-night snacks. Don’t use alcohol or tobacco products as these are sure-fire reasons behind night sweat triggers. Do not eat the final meal of the day later than 6:00PM. Be careful for “trigger” foods or drinks which generally is a precursor to episodes.

Cravings are another symptom associated with menopause and premenopause. As much as possible attempt to restrict special craving foods as these will be liable for unnecessary weight gain and is usually a reason for night sweats.

Where light-weight wicking sort sleepwear, maybe a measurement or two larger and remove tight fitting or confining sleepwear. Bedding also needs to be layered so that outer layers can simply be kicked off with the onset of an episode.

Exercise must be intensified. Exercise that stimulates the heart and cardiovascular system are good. Load bearing exercises including delicate weight training also needs to be thought-about as they keep bones and muscle mass strong and assist to thrust back bone loss and osteoporosis.

However reasonable to severe night sweat suffers could require a extra intense health regimen, HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and bioidenticals should be prevented due to the increased danger of developing coronary heart disease and various types of cancer.

Along with the preventative measures previously mentioned, those affected by moderate to severe night sweats would possibly want to think about supplementation.

Backed by Science, Rhythmic Bioidentical Hormones Reverse Osteoporosis

A condition in which bones become thin and porous as a result of calcium loss, osteoporosis affects women eight times more than men. A bone scan can determine if one has this condition. Statistics say that one in two women over age fifty, or a woman in menopause, will suffer at least one lifetime fracture from osteoporosis. There is recent evidence that biomimetic rhythmic bioidentical hormone therapy can prevent osteoporosis.

Research studies have also shown that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) lowers the risk of osteoporosis-related hip fractures and other fractures in postmenopausal women. When we run out of estrogen and progesterone hormones, our bones begin to die very quickly. Bones have their own life cycle or metabolism, a rhythm of growth and death governed by estrogen and progesterone. The fall off of estrogen during perimenopause means no peak of estrogen activity to make progesterone receptors which would build bone. This is the beginning of osteoporosis.

Estrogen controls osteoclast activity. Osteoclasts are bone cells that “eat up” old bone for disposal. Progesterone controls osteoblastic activity. Osteoblasts are bone cells that build fresh new bone. In this case progesterone grows bone, and estrogen takes it away so that new bone can grow again next month. Without this balanced interplay, one of two things can happen: Without estrogen, bone would overgrow into a cancer- like state, or without progesterone, unopposed estrogen would make bones thin, fragile, and porous – osteoporotic.

Women in menopause who take rhythmic hormones are seeing reversal of bone loss, and the end of osteoporosis. Why? Because it is rhythmic biomimetic bioidentical hormone replacement that helps slow bone thinning or loss and causes an increase in bone thickness. Estrogen replacement alone, because it takes away bone, should be bad for osteoporosis and seems to be so in conventional low doses. But estrogen replacement helps for a little while because it does prevent apoptosis in the bone-building cells, the osteoblasts; however, unless progesterone comes in to stimulate osteoblasts, not much bone grows from estrogen replacement alone.

newer drugs on the market act to stimulate osteoblasts in an artificial way. But it can’t be good. Living on a drug that just exacerbates bone growth is the epitome of “moving a marble.” Increasing supplemental calcium is really pretty useless. No claims have ever been made by the medical establishment that increasing calcium can really prevent or cure osteoporosis.

Natural transdermal, bioidentical hormone replacement prescribed in a normal rhythmic cycle can do what none of those approaches can do: revive your bones. Rhythmic, bio-identical hormone restoration therapy is accurate, it’s biomimetic and mimics the up and down rhythms of hormone blood levels in a normal menstrual cycle.

Doctors with patients on rhythmic bioidentical hormones are raving about the turnaround in their patients’ bone density tests, admitting that it is perhaps the most remarkable of all the benefits of taking rhythmic bioidentical hormone therapy. A Santa Fe medical practitioner, Doctor Deb Werenko said in a YouTube interview, “Some of my patients have anxiety and depression, bone loss, hot flashes, or low libido, and all those things seem to improve dramatically when I start them on the rhythmic biomimetic hormone replacement therapy. Osteoporosis – I’m seeing reversal; libido and relationship issues seem to improve, and I have exciting, exciting results.”

Hormone Imbalances Are a Sign of Poor Health

Most of us don’t worry very much about our health until something goes wrong. We just go along in our teens and twenties, eating whatever we please and if we get some exercise it’s probably because of an activity that we enjoy or a sport that we love; the exercise is a product of our enjoyment. But as we get older, we find that our bodies are not reacting the way it used to. We find that we run out of energy faster and there’s a spare tire building up in our mid-sections. What is going on?

It could be that we need to pay attention to what we’re eating and drinking. Too many sweets, too many sodas and fatty foods can add up, not only on our waistline and stomachs, but also inside us where things are going on that we’re not aware of. There are chemical imbalances going on inside us, hormone imbalances that are causing diseases that we don’t recognize the symptoms of until they become quite obvious.

Once the body shows signs of hormone imbalances, the organs don’t work the way they used to. The hormones can cause us to age quicker than we’re supposed to. The organs that process glucose can stop processing it, and it adds up in our blood stream, causing type 2 diabetes, as one of the diseases that can result from our actions. Sometimes diabetes is the result predominately of our family history, and sometimes it’s our own actions that cause it. When you have hormone imbalances, it can cause not only the “I don’t feel right” condition, it can cause other diseases to take over.

So how do you fight it? You do need to see your doctor and have tests done to determine if you are a victim of diabetes. After the tests, if it is determined that you have diabetes, you need to adjust your diet, get more exercise, and sometimes, when it gets really bad, you need to take medication to correct the effects.

It would be better if we could fight our hormone imbalances by taking better care of ourselves when we were younger, but if you can’t do anything now, at least get a doctor to put you back on track to a healthier life. You can always change the effects, maybe not the disease itself but at least the effects. Once your body is balanced again, you’ll feel so much better.
